On behalf of the Fa'aSamoa Initiative team, we would like to send our deepest
aloha to our families impacted by the wildfire in Maui that started on August 8th. We are aware of many of our families and colleagues in SFUSD are heavily impacted by this catastrophe. As this ways heavy on our hearts and minds, please check in with colleagues and families - as school year begins tomorrow, Wednesday August 16th. Special Announcement!
FASI Team is excited to announce that SFUSD Office of Access & Equity has hired Parent & Community Involvement Coordinator! New to his role, but not to SFUSD.
Herbert Ilalio aka Coach Wylie will transition from his role at Balboa and join the A&E team this week to support the work of the district for equitable services for our Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Students and families districtwide.
Coach has worked in SFUSD for almost a decade in capacity of a ParaEducator, Samoan Translator, Interpreter and Football Coach.
We are excited to work closely with Coach this year in his new capacity and role in the District.
