Educator Spotlight
In Septembers newsletter issue, we wanted to create a section to spotlight our NH&PI community in SFUSD!

Mrs.Misa is our 4th grade Teacher at Paul Revere K8 this year! She started her new career with SFUSD in Pathway to Teaching program in 2020. She was hired amidst a global pandemic to Visitacion Valley Middle School. At VVMS, she launched the Lumina'i Gift Application Sessions for students to support in the process of applying to scholarships while in middle school. She also launched the Power Lunch Sessions that brought Pacific Islander Community Members to share their career paths, journey and navigating life as a Pacific Islander living in the Bay Area. Last year, her class read Lowriders in Space by Cathy Camper and to engage students in their reading, she brought real lowriders to school parking lot. Prior to SFUSD, she worked 12 years as an Adminstrator in Early Education in San Mateo County and Co-founder of Samoan Solutions non-profit organization. We are excited for her new journey at Paul Revere this school year! Thank you Mrs.Faga Misa for taking up the charge!
